Program Manager

As a Program Manager, Prenisha works closely with key stakeholders to coordinate and design customized educational experiences and generate innovative solutions for Duke Corporate Education clients. Prenisha has a background in the education and training sector as well as development sectors. Her background is further enhanced by her extensive experience and knowledge on gender development within the South African environment and abroad.

Prior to joining Duke CE, Prenisha worked as a Gender Specialist at GIZ (German Development Agency). At GIZ she managed gender inclusive project implementation and further integrated gender sensitive and gender transformative approaches into various skills development and employment projects, including supporting research and development in gender analyses for follow on projects. Prenisha has also worked in the education management sector in South Africa for Boston College and the AdvTech Group. Her passion for gender and youth development emanated from the time spent in the NGO space in South Africa early on in her career, where she led programs aimed at supporting unprivileged youth in South Africa as well as the rest of Africa.

Prenisha has a Master of Arts degree in Gender Studies from the University of Free State where her research focused on ‘Gender/Lesbian’ identity in a post-Apartheid South African context. In her spare time, Prenisha enjoys traveling with her wife, practicing Bikram yoga, and walking her two feisty little dachshunds.
