Programme Manager
Alejandra is Programme Manager based in the London office of Duke Corporate Education. Her role entails working closely with each client from the proposal stage, exploring the client’s particular context and needs, to designing tailored training experiences, and the end-to-end execution of a high quality, transformative learning process.
Prior to joining Duke CE, Alejandra’s career was in education. She worked in research for higher education and social inclusion at the Institute of Peruvian Studies, a Peruvian think tank. She also managed exchange programmes for international universities while being a Teaching Assistant in the Psychology Department of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru.
Alejandra is passionate about the potential education has for impacting people’s lives, and found her purpose when she joined Laboratoria, a latinamerican edtech social enterprise focused on empowering underserved women through digital skills training. For six years, she led multidisciplinary teams to assure impactful website development, UX and data analysis programmes for hundreds of women. Since then, she decided to devote her career to revolutionizing education by designing and delivering innovative experiences, combining project-based learning, learning by doing, life-skills training and a challenging approach to leadership. She believes in the power of unlearning to learn, self-awareness as the most powerful tool to grow, critical thinking to start processes of change and diversity to build spaces where everyone can flourish.
She is a Social Psychologist by the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru and has recently been awarded a MSc in Anthropology and Development Management by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Alejandra has been vegetarian for over 10 years, loves to continue developing her incipient aerial silks skills, and enjoys solo travelling. Her favorite things to do in London are going to standup comedy clubs, Vietnamese cuisine, Latin dancing. She dreams of giving a TED Talk about veganism one day.
