Global Talent Director
Margaret van Steenderen brings over 20 years of experience in learning and development, human resources, project management, IT, and leadership coaching to her role at Duke CE. She has worked across South Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Singapore, helping organizations strengthen their people and systems so they can grow and adapt with confidence.
Her career began in IT before moving into the gaming industry, where she managed call centers, mobile and online operations, and supported large-scale integration after a major acquisition. Later, as Group Learning and Development Manager, she designed enterprise-wide training strategies for thousands of employees with a focus on digital adoption, compliance, and leadership development.
Today, Margaret serves as Global Talent Director at Duke CE. She leads talent strategy, workforce planning, and global system implementations, always with a focus on making leaders’ work lives more effective. She believes learning is not a one-time event but a lifelong journey. For her, a growth mindset is the key to turning experience into wisdom and wisdom into progress.
A lifelong learner herself, Margaret is the author of Ignite Your Inspiration and Sustainable Leadership Growth Mindset, both published in 2024, with Ignite Your Learning to be released in 2025. Originally from South Africa, she now calls the United States home and is passionate about helping leaders and organizations embrace learning as a catalyst for change.
