Julie is a Managing Director in Duke CE’s North America practice. Part of a global client team, her role includes leadership of client engagements, designing and developing client offerings, facilitation for global programs, and business development for the Southeast Region. She has worked with clients across a diverse set of industries such as industrial manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and financial services. With roots in the field of sociology, she is particularly attuned to the interplay between organizational structure and individual agency as a driving force in the way leaders approach their work, solve challenges and inspire and motivate their teams.
Before joining Duke CE in 2014, Julie worked in the healthcare industry, leading the talent management function for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. Julie previously worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), launching and leading the Canadian firm’s gender diversity initiative.
Julie has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Public Health from Emory University and a Master of Arts in Sociology, also from Emory University. Trained in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, her research has focused on the way organizational dynamics influence how we make meaning out of our work experience. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Julie is an avid runner and loves to cook – the latter necessitating the former!
