Debbie Watson has been a Project Director at Duke Corporate Education (Duke CE) since 2014. Prior to joining Duke CE, Debbie was the sole Director of New Directions Consulting for 11 years, specialising in learning and development.
With IT & Financial Services business grounding, she has diverse learning & development background encompassing the research, design, development and facilitation of learning programs in the field of leadership, management, life skills, interpersonal relations development and functional/technical training. She has also worked on numerous SAP Optimisation projects where her key role has been one of Business Maturity Advisor and Change Driver.
Debbie also has experience in Change Management, Trauma Debriefing, Coaching and Counselling. She has extensive experience relating to diversity issues that impact professional and personal relationships and has relevant qualifications in this field of study through Wits school of Public & Development Management through her association with The Diversity Institute.
All told she has operated in this vocational field for the past 29 years.
She has obtained Master Facilitator status in various leadership, management & life skills programs, including Franklin Covey and Vital Smarts, and has been instrumental in the project management, delivery and fulfilment of various learning initiatives within organisations. As a facilitator, Debbie has been involved with the upskilling and accrediting of associate and in-house facilitators.
Debbie is passionate about harnessing human energy in organisations and guiding people towards excellence. She has had the opportunity to facilitate at all levels in organisations and across various groups of learners with a diverse demographic makeup. Her strength lies in her ability to connect people to the organisation’s strategy and drive collaboration and alignment.
Debbie has vast industry experience with ING Financial Services, Information Technology, Mining, Petro Chemical, Government, and Engineering companies to name some. She has worked with clients in South Africa, Malawi, Kenya, Botswana, Swaziland and Europe. Debbie’s academic qualifications include a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Development from the University of Johannesburg, Business Management Development Programme from Wits Business School and Stellenbosch School of Business and a Certificate in Diversity Management from Wits Business School of Public & Development Management.
