Cindy Campbell embodies the eclectic nature of Duke CE – a technology-savvy educator who writes. She engages in a wide range of activities from research, to writing proposals, to developing instructional tools. Her main charge is to assist in designing and delivering client projects while helping to develop new commercial models. Cindy has been a member of the team who has written and published the Leading from the Center book series with Kaplan Publishing (formerly Dearborn Trade). The eight-book series is targeted specifically toward mid-level managers.
Before joining DukeCE, Cindy spent 12 years at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Originally providing computer user support to faculty and staff, she later played a key role designing and helping to launch Fuqua’s first on-line Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) program in 1996. It was the first true merger of live and virtual education delivery.
A natural extension of her work on curriculum platforms has been to use technology to support learning and interaction across all segments of a participant’s educational experience. At DukeCE, she has focused particularly on techniques and processes that learners can use back at the office to apply the formal knowledge from their learning experience. These tools include online resources, assessment tools, communication and collaboration applications, and quick help guides.
