KG Bako is the Managing Executive: People and Culture, at Absa Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). She has been with Absa Group Limited for the past 6 years.
She has over two decades of human capital experience, mostly spent in the banking industry, focusing on Leadership coaching and advisory, Talent Management, Change Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Business Transformation, Strategy Planning & Implementation. She has multiple geography exposure and experience across Africa & International markets where she led strategic projects in complex environments.
KG sits on a number of executive committees across various industries where she influences key strategic decisions. She has led complex businesses, playing an advisory role to CEOs and senior leadership on complex business and people related matters. She is passionate about people and prioritizes authentic connections and empowering others through networking, mentoring and coaching with the focus on women. She is inquisitive by nature and is interested in exploring new and different ideas.
She has recently completed an Advanced Management Program (AMP) with IMD. She holds an MBA (Henley Business School), a certification in Innovation in the Financial Services (Harvard Business School), a certification in HR as a Strategic Business Partner (Graduate Business School – UCT), and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Wits University).
She is a mother of three teenage daughters whom she regards as her life coaches.
