The Loom: Professional Women's Community
Duke CE is particularly interested in one hot topic on the corporate education landscape: developing a pipeline of women leaders. We have benefited from experience in delivering programs over the last decade to help clients develop a cadre of women leaders. At the same time, we are interested in making corporate education more relevant, flexible, accessible and economical. And we are finding that the developments of the last several years make technology-based education, interaction and engagement at scale more practical than ever before.
So we have built the Loom – a blend of trusted networks of peers and subject-matter experts, content and live learning events that bring women and men from across the globe together around a common issue many industries are facing: attracting, retaining and accelerating the development of professional women. This online community is a place where women can learn from one another, liaise with thought leaders, and tap into specific educational content and opportunities relevant to the competencies they are hoping to enhance. It goes beyond the social networks available today, providing actual educational content, developmental opportunities and interaction that women need, where they need it, when they need it. The design and content of the community is generated both by the membership of the Loom and Duke CE thought leaders. The architecture is flexible, just-in-time and customizable to a company’s competency models and talent and performance management practices.
