Digital Learning Strategist, Strategic Leadership Solutions
Steve is in constant discovery mode, seeking out what lies at the intersection of learning design and technology. Current areas of interest include virtual reality, game-based learning, advanced blended designs, and advances in learning theory and methodologies that reflect the needs and habits of the technology-enabled workforce. He works on a wide array of projects globally and in a variety of capacities – from business development to teaching onsite or online. Additionally, there is a strong research and development component to his work, focusing on assessing client needs, identifying potential learning flows (content and processes) and then sourcing or developing the technologies to support those.
Recent client work has included the Aditya Birla Group, UCB Pharma, Boeing, Caterpillar, Daimler, Deutsche Telekom, Chevron, Microsoft, ANZ Bank, MetLife, Cisco, and The Coca-Cola Company. Conference presentations over the past couple of years include Challenges and Opportunities for the Global CLO panelist, CLO Summit, Mumbai, India (2014); The Seven Sense-Abilities of the New Leader at the Serious Play Conference (2013); End to End Experience Design at Learning 2010; and Level Up – Serious Gaming for the Swedish Games Conference (2010).
Prior to his positions within Duke Corporate Education (a founding member), Steve worked in the Executive Education department at The Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, creating and supporting web environments and resources for corporate client programs. Those projects included clients in the U.S. and Europe.
Steve enjoys the continuing adventure that parenting and family life provides, and occasionally finds time to play guitar, ride his bike, drive and crew in auto sports, and volunteers with a variety of organizations.
