Director, Design and Advisory
Kevin O’Leary joined Duke Corporate Education in July 2015 and leverages his leadership experience to help develop senior and emerging leaders around the world enable businesses and organizations to maximize their opportunities through adaptive leadership. He designs, delivers and advises in leadership development for a diverse range of international clients in oil & gas, legal, maritime security, charity, financial, healthcare, aviation, technology and government sectors.
Before joining Duke CE, Kevin was a senior detective at New Scotland Yard. He was the head of the Covert Operations Command and was also a hostage and crisis negotiator with significant experience in the response to kidnap for ransom. He designed and implemented the plans to respond to the threat of serious and organized crime to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and was the operational commander with responsibility for crime and intelligence throughout the games period, leading a team of detectives, crime scene investigators, intelligence analysts and support staff.
As a transformational leader, Kevin drove forward significant changes in law enforcement both nationally and internationally leading to recognition and adoption of a specialist forum at Interpol. He led a team that re-designed services to align with the changes facing modern policing. He was also the change lead for an area of specialist training and development in the UK, leading to increased recruitment of under-represented groups and introducing reforms in the learning and development for practitioners, managers and leaders.
Kevin has a Bachelor’s degree from the Open University; a Master’s in Risk, Crisis and Disaster management from the University of Leicester and he is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
