Partner Schools

Duke CE has strong formal relationships with three schools:

  • Our parent, Duke University
  • The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
  • The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA)

Our partner schools help us be at once more “local” and more “global” in our thinking.

Duke University

With some 2,500 faculty and 12,000 students, Duke University consistently ranks among the best American schools.  Located in Durham, North Carolina, Duke was created in 1924 with an endowment that enabled the very extensive expansion of a small liberal arts college established in 1838.

Included on Duke’s 525-acre campus are undergraduate and graduate programs in the arts, sciences, and engineering; and professional schools—among the nation’s finest—in business, law, medicine, divinity, and the environment.

In its relatively short history, the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University has established itself as one of the leading business schools in the world, providing MBA and doctoral degree programs as well as non-degree open enrollment executive education.

London School of Economics and Political Science

Since 2003, Duke CE has had a joint venture with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) through its commercial subsidiary LSE Enterprise.  With a global reputation for excellence spanning economics, international relations, trade, government and law, LSE is one of the most international universities in the world: about half the faculty is from the UK, a quarter from the rest of Europe, and a quarter from around the globe.

Since its founding in 1895, LSE has aimed to be a laboratory of the social sciences—a place where ideas are developed, analyzed, evaluated and disseminated. Our joint venture brings together the strengths of Duke CE and LSE to provide unique, highly tailored corporate learning experiences.

LSE's social science faculty provide insights into emerging markets, the changing nature of risk, operating in regulated environments, and other geopolitical issues important to business decision-makers; LSE's Industrial Relations Group is one of the foremost centers in the world for the study of employment relations, human resource management, and organizational behavior; its Information Systems Group is one of the largest of its kind, representing a range of academic approaches and specialties; its Managerial Economics and Strategy Group promotes the teaching of and research into management from a social science perspective; the Accounting Group enjoys a pre-eminent reputation in Europe for the excellence of its teaching and research; and Operational Research—a discipline taught at LSE for over 50 years—continues to provide excellence in its field. Fifty academics from all these areas have been brought together under the rubric of the Department of Management, an intellectually powerful collective for complex interdisciplinary thinking.

Duke CE’s London office, located near the LSE campus, gives us a European presence and outlook within our broader global perspective, allowing us to better serve our many European clients, and non-European clients with divisions there.

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad

In 2006, Duke CE formed a collaborative arrangement with the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) to develop and deliver custom corporate education programs. The initiative leverages the resources and capabilities of each institution to bring Duke CE’s business model—using education as a means to help clients effect corporate strategy—to this exciting part of the world.

IIMA’s faculty includes 80 dedicated teachers, eminent researchers and innovative entrepreneurs offering programs that provide a global perspective as well as strong regional expertise. IIMA currently offers three master’s programs enrolling 600 students, a doctoral program and numerous executive education programs.

IIMA is an autonomous institution created in 1961 with the active collaboration of the Government of India, the State of Gujarat, and industry.  IIMA is the #1 ranked business school in India and among the top business schools in the Asia-Pacific region.

Duke CE’s India office, housed on the IIMA campus, provides us with a gateway to the rapidly growing economies in this part of the world.
