Sloan Weitzel
Project Director
Sloan works with a variety of Duke CE staff and external faculty to design and deliver custom educational experiences for clients. This work includes project and customer relationship management, administration, and overall operational execution for the programs.
Prior to joining Duke CE, Sloan spent five years with Siemens Medical Solutions in Malvern, Pa. While at Siemens Med, he held positions as the Director of Leadership Development, a senior manager in IT operations, and as a six sigma black belt who also ran the organizational business objective planning process for an 800-person organization.
Before Siemens, Sloan worked at the Center for Creative Leadership, where he trained several thousand mid-level to senior level executives on how they can improve their leadership skills. He also spent two years there as a product manager developing online learning content.
Sloan started his career with AT&T in New York City as a systems consultant designing IT solutions for brokerage firms on Wall Street. During his eight years at AT&T, he held various positions in sales and marketing.
Sloan has a degree in engineering and business from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania and an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. He has written two books: Feedback that Works: How to Build and Deliver Your Message and How to Set Your Development Goals: Start with Your Values. He has also been certified as a Senior HR Professional (SHRP) by the Society for Human Resource Professionals. |
