Shailendra Mehta

Head of Duke CE's collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Shailendra was most recently a Purdue University professor of management.
His interests include the theory of organizations, information economics, and labor economics. Shailendra is also interested in industrial economics, game theory, public economics, the intersection of economics and philosophy, and economies in transition. His experience includes working on the leasing of automobiles, the impact of information technology on firm pricing, a typology of franchising contracts, and a simulation of the digital information industries.
Expected to help further East-West research ties by accepting academic appointments at both Ahmedabad and Duke University's Sanford Institute of Public Policy, Shailendra holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University, an M.A. from Delhi University's Delhi School of Economics, an M.Phil degree from Oxford and a B.A. from St. Stephen’s College.
