VP, Global Facilities and Vendor Management
Tim Martin is Vice President of Global Facilities and Vendor Management at Duke Corporate Education. He is responsible for the operation of Duke CE’s current facilities as well as future expansion. Tim has been instrumental in overseeing Duke CE’s office growth. Most recently he managed the renovation of the Lucky Strike tobacco factory, part of the American Tobacco Historic District in Durham, North Carolina. The Lucky Strike building, built in 1898, serves as Duke CE’s global headquarters as well as housing client delivery teams serving the Southeast and Central US.
Tim is also involved in the selection of educational conference facilities globally. And he has responsibility for management and organization of legal/contractual agreements.
Prior to coming to Duke CE, Tim served as general manager of the R. David Thomas Executive Conference Center at Duke University for ten years. He has over twenty years experience in the field of conference center management and has been actively involved in the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC). For the past 15 years, Tim has served in various capacities within IACC including the chairperson for IACC's 2001 and 2002 annual conference. Tim currently serves on the Executive Board as Treasurer for IACC North America and chairs the IACC Marketing Committee.
