Dennis Loughridge

Dennis has thirty plus years experience in energy and natural resource industries, as well as long experience in executive education.  In both international and domestic arenas, he has successfully managed the issues confronting executive management in startups, strategic redirections, divestments and acquisitions. His expertise also includes leadership roles in general management, finance, exploration and production, acquisitions and divestitures, refining and marketing, independent power, restructurings.

Dennis is the former president and chief executive officer of Agip Petroleum Co. Inc. in Houston, Texas. Agip is a U.S. corporation, which is wholly owned by ENI S.pa.A., an Italian corporation.

From 1997 to 1998, Dennis was the president and chief executive officer of California Power Exchange Corp. In this capacity he was responsible for implementing the state’s mandated market for electricity. Dennis reported to a board of directors of members from the various interest groups within the state.

Dennis worked for the Broken Hill Proprietary Co. Ltd. (BHP) from 1979 to 1996. He held several different positions for BHP in different areas of the world, CFO of BHP Petroleum, President of BHP Petroleum (Americas) and President BHP Power. While working with BHP he resided in Houston, Texas; Melbourne, Australia; San Francisco, California and Honolulu, Hawaii. Loughridge started his career in the exploration and production industry with Union Texas Petroleum in Houston, Texas, in 1974.

He received his Doctor of Philosophy in business administration and Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
