Jane E. Kasper

Director, Learning Methods

A founding member of Duke Corporate Education, Jane serves as a Director on the Learning Methods Team, which focuses on developing and maintaining leading edge practices for learning interventions. Jane helps clients and Duke CE client teams design and execute innovative experiential learning activities as part of educational events.

Her current and former clients include AT&T, IBM, IKEA, Merck, Microsoft, Brown Brothers Harriman, The Fuqua School of Business, Genpact, Lehman Brothers, Linde, Novalis, PwC, Rio Tinto, RusAl, The Nature Conservancy and VNU. Jane also serves as a lead facilitator in many program modules, working internally designing, promoting and teaching brainstorming techniques.

She draws on her cultural history and theatre arts background to incorporate clients’ business context and strategy into methods such as original live simulations and behavioral learning labs.  Jane has created experiential learning modules using multimedia, the arts, sports, the U.S. legal system, a political strategist, U.S. legislative experts, and even community involvement to meld clients’ intended learning outcomes with visceral experiences and draw learners’ attention to the business context.

Prior to moving to North Carolina and joining Duke Corporate Education, Jane worked as a modern dance choreographer, costume designer, actor and performer. She developed and taught a modern dance program for rural elementary and middle school children. She taught modern dance as well as creative dramatics for the Very Special Arts Program, creating learning opportunities for people with disabilities. Jane was a performer in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area, working in experimental, scripted and improvisational theatre.

Jane holds a Master of Arts degree from Duke University. She has a minor in Dance, a Bachelor’s degree in Music and a second degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Wisconsin.
