Rani Gill
Associate Project Director
Rani Gill has been an Associate Project Director at Duke Corporate Education since February 2004, and a member of Duke CE since March 2001. Previous to her role as an Associate Project Director, Rani worked as a web learning support specialist in Duke CE’s Learning Technology department.
Rani joined Duke CE after several years as an information designer for Duke University. During her tenure as information/web designer, she managed projects as diverse as: information campaigns for IT departments; the delivery of computer orientation classes for incoming students; the design, development, launch, and support of learning web sites for university and corporate clients.
Her aspiration to create information that looked good, made sense, and had a clear purpose was inspired by Edward Tufte, author of Envisioning Information: "To envision information-and what bright and splendid visions can result-is to work at the intersection of image, word, number, art."
The leap from web design to project management came from a desire to learn more about the core of Duke CE's business. The deep immersion into the complex, dynamic, intense world of a client-facing team has been challenging, exhilarating and a rich learning experience. Rani is continuing her client-facing work, and moving into an exploration of learning technologies and their applications in the corporate environment. Rani has worked with several of Duke CE's clients, primarily with PwC and Lehman Brothers.
She has a BA in English and Communications from Simon Fraser University, and a diploma in Information Technology from Capilano College (British Columbia, Canada.) |
