Craig Clawson

Managing Director

Craig works with a variety of internal and external faculty and Duke CE staff to design and deliver custom educational experiences for clients and participants. He is also responsible for project direction, customer relationship management, administration, and overall operational direction for these educational programs.

Craig has held several positions in consulting and academia prior to joining Duke CE.  Most recently he was an engagement manager at the Corporate Executive Board in Washington, DC where he helped some of the world’s leading sales and marketing organizations improve their processes based on client data and best practices research.  He also served as an associate in the Boston office of Analysis Group, an economic, financial, and strategy consultancy.  As an economic consultant he partnered with a variety of business and economics faculty serving as academic experts to assist clients with interpretation of economic and financial data for large litigation cases, primarily in the banking, healthcare, and software industries.

Prior to his consulting experience Craig was actively involved in academia, teaching at the University of Chicago and the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.  He was heavily involved in the executive MBA program at the University of Chicago, teaching operations management to international and US executives at both the European and Chicago campuses.  At Brigham Young University he spent two years teaching microeconomics and business strategy to both undergraduates and MBA students.

Craig is a true believer in the power of education to change individual and group behavior and knows learning is a never-ending process.  He often emphasizes the value of economics in understanding everyday life.  His loves are his family, travel, and being outdoors where he can enjoy activities such as hiking or skiing.

Craig received an MBA and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Utah, magna cum laude.
