Your Challenges & Needs

By definition, customized executive education programs are unique.  Yet in our experience, some needs do surface over and over, sometimes within an industry and often across industries. Recurrent patterns we’ve seen can be divided into two groups: business challenges and developmental needs.

Business Challenges

Education can build an organization’s capability to:

1. Drive organic growth through innovation
2. Drive organic growth through global expansion
3. Increase integration across the enterprise
4. Improve response to government regulations
5. Increase agility and speed to market
6. Improve customer relations
7. Reduce costs through increased efficiency
8. Manage culture change resulting from a merger or acquisition
9. Shift from being technologically-driven to market-driven
10. Respond to changing competitive pressures
11. Adapt/leverage changing technologies
12. Thrive amid industry consolidation
13. Market globally while recognizing local needs
14. Enable sales teams to talk to client CEOs
15. Integrate new employees and get them up to speed quickly (on-boarding)
16. Transition from B2B to B2C

Craft or Implement Strategy.  Education can also be used to develop strategies without relying on outside consultants, to get employees engaged in a new strategic change initiative—or to make high-level corporate strategy actionable to colleagues on the front line.

Developmental Needs

Create Leaders. Global companies take seriously the need to develop leaders at all levels.  They don’t approach leadership in the abstract but instead recognize that it means different things depending on a manager’s level, his or her functional area, the challenges a firm is facing, and its business context. We look at what leaders need to do to address specific challenges, and focus our programs on those needs.

A special but common situation is the need for general business acumen in professionals with non-business degrees, such as engineers or scientists. Such managers need a strong grasp of the end-to-end nature of the business.
