Sharmla Chetty
Managing Director
Sharmla works with clients to design customized educational experiences aligned to organizational strategy and business needs, and she manages their delivery. Her current clients include Standard Bank, Anglo Platinum, Black Management Forum and Mutual & Federal. Sharmla oversees client relationship management and business development for the South Africa office.
Sharmla has extensive experience within the Learning and Development environment. Prior to joining Duke CE, she was the Head of Human Capital Development at Nedbank, where she was responsible for the following functions: Management and Leadership Development, Grants and Education, Skills Development and Strategic Learning. She provided strategic direction and thought leadership for executive management development, ensuring that all educational interventions were aligned with the organisation’s business needs. She also consulted with local and international business schools, partner companies and internal clients to ensure quality delivery of educational products and services at all levels.
Additionally, Sharmla worked in a collaboration between Nedbank, Mutual and Federal and Old Mutual in various aspects of the strategic alliance of the group companies in the learning and development arena.
Sharmla completed her undergraduate qualification in Human Resources Management at rand Afrikaans university and holds a number of qualifications from numerous South African schools. She is currently completing her MBA at Henley Management College; her research focuses on social relevance in a South African context.
A South African, Sharmla is passionate and insightful, energetic and innovative, and she sometimes enjoys breaking the rules.
