Sara Nilsson DeHanas

Project Director

As a Project Director for a global client team, Sara facilitates the design and development of customized executive education programs ensuring that the client’s needs and expectations are exceeded. Her role includes client relationship management, program design and delivery, budget creation and implementation, supplier engagement, and overall project leadership. Sara has also been involved small group facilitation.

Sara has worked globally across a diverse range of industries such as financial services, telecommunications, engineering, media, government, natural resources, and consumer goods.  She has a particular passion for immersive experiences, particularly in India and China.

Before taking the role of project director, Sara worked in the Learning Technology department at Duke CE, designing and delivering technology to facilitate and enhance learning in executive education programs. Prior to joining Duke CE, Sara spent a year volunteering as a relief-worker with political asylum seekers in Rome. She has also managed and taught educational programs for high-potential young adults in Washington, D.C.

Sara graduated magna cum laude from Rice University with a degree in English literature, having received one of their top merit scholarships for leadership and community bridge-building. She speaks conversational Italian, and has lived in London with her husband since June 2007.  In addition to enjoying theatre and wandering in London, she has founded a weekly English conversation group to help integrate second-language speakers and promote multi-cultural dialogue.
