Nikhil Raval

Managing Director  

Nikhil is currently a Managing Director with Duke CE India Pvt Ltd. He comes with more than 16 years of combined experience in corporate, consulting and academia.

Currently as a Managing Director with Duke CE India, he is involved in developing high impact learning interventions. His job includes assisting clients with the design and development of programs, facilitating group sessions, and working closely with clients to ensure their business outcomes are met. He also helps manage program budgets, provides project direction, and engages external educators for participation in Duke CE offerings. While at Duke CE, he has successfully orchestrated, designed or taught with many clients including Aditya Birla, PWC India, GenPact, CitiFinancial, First Gulf Bank, Oil India Limited, Bharat Petroleum, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, AEGON and others.

Nikhil spent his early career, nearly a decade, in the financial services sector in the US. He started his professional career with American Express by working as a Financial Advisor. A licensed broker in all areas of securities including stocks, bonds, limited partnerships, annuities, mutual funds and unit investment trusts, he managed total assets of $2 Million. He was primarily involved in providing comprehensive financial planning advice in areas of risk protection, taxes, retirement, estate preservation, investments and asset allocation. Subsequent to American Express, Nikhil spent time at Franklin Templeton where he was involved in the daily fund accounting of Franklin Funds. This role included calculating Net Asset Value, recording security transactions including gains, sale of portfolio securities, interest, dividend income, and maintaining daily cash for funds.

Later he shifted to work for Charles Schwab, the world’s largest online brokerage company where he was doing internal auditing. He examined and evaluated Schwab’s back-office operations to assess the level of compliance with regulatory policies and management’s procedures and directives. In 2000 he worked on a CEO sponsored project, where he gained business expertise on impact of handling corporate transactions involved in determining Cost Basis of a security. Further to Schwab he worked in the Insurance sector with one of the state agencies in California.

In 2002 he returned to India and has been actively involved in academics with teaching, consulting and New Business Development for Institutes. Prior to Duke CE Nikhil was a faculty at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, and Mudra Communications. He has taught management and finance in many local and national institutes including National Institute of Design, PDPU, EDI, MICA and is currently a visiting faculty at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT).

Nikhil earned a Bachelor's in Finance from Michigan State University and has an MBA in Strategic Management from California State University. He is an avid reader and his area of interest includes understanding markets, investments, and corporate strategy, while his hobbies include basketball, trekking and music.
