Project Director

Michelle Hoover joined Duke CE in 2005. She began her career with the firm as a director for its Global Learning Resource Network of faculty, facilitators and executive coaches, building and maintaining relationships with those educators and matching them to client programs.  In her current role as a project director, she works collaboratively with global teams, clients, and external partners to design, develop and deliver customized educational experiences.

A founding member of Duke CE’s New York City office, Michelle has worked with dozens of clients from various industries on programs with foci ranging from building functional competencies to creating comprehensive leadership strategies. Some of her clients include PricewaterhouseCoopers, Booz Allen Hamilton, Thomson Reuters, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Nokia.

Prior to coming to Duke CE, Michelle, a former journalist, wrote and edited for several newspapers on the East Coast, including The Philadelphia Inquirer, where her focus was on local, national and international news and sports. Highlights of her newspaper career include working on the coverage for an organized-crime trial, the war in Afghanistan, and the four major professional sports teams in the city. Michelle also serves as a journalism lecturer, presenting workshops and teaching news writing for various national organizations, including the Columbia Scholastic Press Association at Columbia University.

Michelle’s postgraduate work concentrated on American colleges and universities, with special emphasis on organizational culture and leadership theory.  She earned her Ed.M. from Harvard University and a B.A. from Penn State University.
