Michael Chavez

Executive Director

Michael Chavez is an Executive Director for Duke Corporate Education, based in the London Office.  Previously, Michael served as Regional Managing Director overseeing Duke CE’s client services for the Western U.S.  Since joining Duke CE, Michael has focused on helping his clients in the areas of managing effective leadership transitions, team collaboration, strategy and execution.  His particular interests and expertise lie in helping clients align their global business strategies with leadership development.

Michael brings to Duke CE more than 20 years of experience in the fields of executive management, marketing, strategy consulting, and organisational learning and development. He has led projects all over the world and in a variety of industries, including software, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, retail, financial services and media.

Before joining Duke CE, Michael spent over five years as a founding member of the executive team of a successful software start-up where he served as both VP of Professional Services and VP of Marketing. In these roles, he was instrumental in acquiring the company’s first Fortune 500 customers, delivering over $3 million in revenue in the first year of product delivery and leading to the company’s first round of institutional funding.

Prior to his start-up experience, Michael was Director and Senior Learning Consultant at The Coca-Cola Company, where he worked closely with senior executives in Latin America and Europe to improve executive team effectiveness, develop leadership and organisational capability, and accelerate business performance through collaboration. 
Michael also worked in the field of strategic planning, having served as Strategic Planning manager for both Coca-Cola and The Los Angeles Times

He began his consulting career as a Strategy Consultant for Kurt Salmon, working with large industrial, retail and consumer goods companies in the North America and Latin America to develop cross-market strategies and improve operational efficiency. 

Michael holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics from UCLA. He is fluent in both Spanish and French
