Karen Boylston

Managing Director

Karen Boylston is a Managing Director at Duke Corporate Education.

Karen’s work focuses on successful execution of new business strategy through alignment of organization structure, governance, culture, and senior leadership teams. She advises CEOs and works with executive teams to optimize their individual and collective capacity to lead their organizations amidst rapidly changing business environments.

With more than 15 years consulting experience in global professional services firms, Karen has partnered with clients to deliver results on strategy execution, change management, executive team alignment, and leadership development initiatives in numerous Fortune 100 companies across major industries.

Most recently, Karen led the change management office in a post-merger integration for a global pharmaceutical company, designing and globally implementing change tools that achieved rapid transition of senior leaders, knowledge transfer, and strong organizational productivity. She also led the change management initiative with a large telecommunications company to establish the change management office, tracking tools, re-alignment processes, and transformation survey that the executive team used to track and manage strategy execution.

At BCG, Karen was a senior engagement manager in the organization practice. Karen also spent three years with Sibson Consulting, a human capital consulting firm as a senior consultant on the global start-up team for the change management and leadership performance practices. During the previous 10 years, she was at the Center for Creative Leadership as director, organization leadership practice where she developed and managed the change leadership and executive team alignment practice areas. Karen completed her organization internship with IBM.

Karen is a licensed organizational psychologist, and holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of South Carolina.
