Jonathan Besser

Project Director

Jonathan currently works for Duke Corporate Education (Duke CE) as a Project Director, a role he has held since joining the company at the end of 2006. Jonathan facilitates the design and development of customised executive education programmes as part of the client facing teams at Duke CE.

The role also involves client relationship management, engaging appropriate external educators for tailored programs, program design and development as well as overseeing program implementation and managing project finances.  Jonathan is involved in projects from their conception through to completion

With Duke Corporate Education, Jonathan has worked all over the world, spending significant time in South Africa working on projects at all levels for different clients. He has been involved in program design, development and delivery in more than 20 countries for a diverse range of clients from the Banking, Mining, Natural Resources, Engineering and Telecoms industries. Jonathan has considerable experience and expertise in running large and complex global programmes

Prior to joining Duke CE, Jonathan was Vice President of Admissions and Marketing at the American InterContinental University in London. He was responsible for the development, implementation and tracking of specific international marketing for both graduate and undergraduate programs. In addition, Jonathan ran an admissions team of more than 30 people based in London and Chicago. Prior to entering University admissions and marketing, he cut his teeth on Newsweek magazine, running bi-annual education advertorials.

Jonathan holds a BSc Hons in Biology from the University of Sussex, England. He is a passionate believer in education and the merits gained from ongoing learning. His plans for the future include ongoing self-development. Outside of work, Jonathan lives in London and has recently married Olivia. They have just finished redeveloping a house that had not been touched in more than 60 years. He is a passionate and experimental cook and likes nothing more than cooking for friends and family. Jonathan enjoys cycling; indoor rock climbing and all adrenaline-packed outdoor pursuits.
