Demos Orphanides

Online Solutions Specialist

Demos works in Duke CE’s C&IS department. He spends the majority of his work-time creating and updating program websites, thinking about new technology, and offering guidance, knowledge and advice about web technologies to Client Teams.

A strong foundation in design theory, web and user interface design, and more than 10 years of Adobe Photoshop experience give Demos both practical production experience and unique insight into the planning process for design. His goal is to offer this and other valuable input to our clients to better help them communicate through design.

Demos began his career in the legal world as a case manager for the not-for-profit American Arbitration Association, managing numerous projects and client relationships.

During the dot-com boom, Demos used his case management experience and love of technology to earn a position as a team leader at Nortel Networks, where he helped oversee design, testing, and deployment of fiber networks for clients such as AT&T, MCI, and Qwest. Most recently, he held a business development and account management position at a local design firm.

Demos graduated from Oberlin College with a BA in Social Psychology (Law & Society concentration). He also has an AAS degree with high honors in Advertising and Graphic Design.

Originally from New York, Demos arrived in North Carolina via Massachusetts, Connecticut, Ohio and Pennsylvania. His interests include photography, industrial design and model-making. He also knows more about Star Wars than any grown man should.
