David Miller
Vice President, Global Business Development and Marketing
David Miller is Vice President, Global Business Development and Marketing at Duke Corporate Education, Inc., and is a member of the company’s Executive Committee and a founding member of the company.
He has responsibility for development, oversight and management of the company’s global business development function and also responsibility for the development, oversight and management of the company’s global marketing function. He has worked with human resource and learning and development professionals of dozens of major multinational organizations to help them clarify how internal human capital development activities could be accelerated and extended through a partnership with Duke Corporate Education.
Before joining Duke Corporate Education, David served The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in several roles. From 1998 through 1999, he was Director of Global Marketing and was responsible for worldwide marketing of all Fuqua educational programs. From 1994 until 1998 he was Director of European Relations and based in Brussels, Belgium, where he was responsible for Fuqua’s European business development activities. He was Associate Dean and Director of MBA Programs from 1985 through 1994—at which time these programs nearly doubled in size and underwent a major curriculum revision. From 1980 through 1985, he was Director of MBA Admissions and Financial Aid. Prior to that, he served six years in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Duke University, departing as Associate Director.
He holds a PhD in education (counseling psychology) from Duke and an MEd and BS from the College of William and Mary. He also holds a certificate in training and development from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte. He has served on the board of directors of the LEAD Program in Business, Inc. and the MBA Enterprise Corps and has held numerous positions with the Graduate Management Admissions Council, twice serving as a committee chair.
